7 Tips on Managing Your Time

  • Make a to-do list. Before starting your day, make a to-do list. Ticking off completed tasks will give you a sense of satisfaction and motivate you to complete the next.
  • Use a planner. Writing down your appointments actually helps you to remember them and manage your time. If you think planners are old-school, those cool phone apps work just as well.
  • Move on. If you’re working on something and you’re stuck, move on to other things first, and come back to it later. By then, you might actually be able to proceed AND you’ve also finished those other tasks.
  • Learn to say no. It’s nice to be helpful, but be sure you don’t take on more than you can handle.
  • Allocate time. Set one or two hours for each task. By breaking down the workload, it’ll be easier to finish up.
  • Fast-forward time. If you find yourself running late all the time, try setting your watch to be 10 minutes earlier. This way, you will always be ahead of time.
  • Prioritise. The more important things come first. Don’t waste your time on something that you can do later.
